Tranquil Trails and Kayaking: A Quick Journey Through New Hampshire
New Hampshire is one of those places I never knew I needed to visit or would actually end up. Babe is originally from the New England area. His sister and her family still live there. This trip was not only my first time meeting them, but also it was a family trip. We all made the drive to Intervale, New Hampshire where we stayed together in a cozy Air BNB nestled in the woods.
This particular hike is located in the White Mountains, specifically Diana’s Baths. The weather was picture perfect. The hiking trails had cool mountain streams. We climbed the beautiful white rocks to get to higher trails. Afterwards, we dipped our feet in the crisp, cool water. Refreshing was an understatement because it was quite hot!
Someone made a mini rock pile, and I thought it was cute, so I had to photograph it.
Another interesting spot is the scenic Mount Washington Hotel. According to urban legends, this hotel was an inspiration for the Overlook Hotel in Stephen King’s novel, The Shining (1977) and the subsequent film adaption.
We also enjoyed a five-hour kayak tour. Again, we truly could not have asked for better weather. The temps were perfect along with the scenery – absolutely breathtaking. To say I’m a seasoned kayaker would be a lie, as it was only my second time kayaking. For the most part, I did okay, despite a few moments of uncertainty!
If you haven’t already been, I highly suggest adding New Hampshire to your list of travels. We visited only a short time but tried to pack as much as we cold into our mini trip. It’s definitely a place I would like to revisit.
Thank you for reading and I hope this inspired you to see this wondrous place!
